Central Christian Church is a "Purpose Driven" church...
This means that it is our desire to have a defined purpose for everything we are, teach, and do at Central.  After careful study, we believe that the Bible is clear and concise about God's plan for the Christian Church.  Here are two passages in the New Testament that summarize the church's purpose - Central Christian Church's purpose:

The Great Commandment
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
(Matthew 22:37-40)

The Great Commission
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
(Matthew 28:19-20)

From what Jesus said in these verses, we believe the following areas compose the fivefold purpose of the church:

Worship - "Love the Lord your God"
We desire to become and to help others become worshipers of God, demonstrating our love for Him in every part of our lives.  Worship is a gift shared back and forth with God every day.  Coming together for worship on Sunday's is certainly an important part of our lives, but we believe that worship is a lifestyle that we are called to practice at all times.

Evangelism - "Go and make disciples"
We desire to help people discover a real relationship with Jesus and to help them respond to Him in faith by committing their lives to Him as Savior and Lord.  We strongly believe in what we like to call "lifestyle evangelism" where we share our faith naturally through  our relationships with family and friends.

Discipleship- "Teaching them to obey everything"
We desire to help people mature in their understanding and life application of the principles of God's Word, the Bible.  Through our preaching and teaching, whether in large groups or small groups, the emphasis is on learning practical "how to" lessons that will make a lasting difference in a person's day to day life.

Fellowship - "Baptizing them"
We desire to help people "connect" with other believers, building meaningful relationships that will provide the mutual support and accountability that is needed to grow in their Christian walk.  Central Christian Church is a community of loving and caring individuals and families made up of people of all ages, ethnic origins, and backgrounds.

Ministry - "Love your neighbor as yourself"
We desire to learn, and to help others learn, to use our God-given "SHAPE".  The opportunity to serve Him and each other is one of God's greatest gifts to us.  We believe that, as Christians, we realize real joy and fulfillment by serving in areas where God has given us unique and special gifts and experiences.  SHAPE stands for:

Spiritual gifts
Heart or passion
Abilities or developed skills
Personality or temperment
Experiences

We feel that it is important to identify these attributes to help each of us discover where we "fit" best in ministry.

Our Purpose Statement Exclaims:

Believing that God's Word compels us to carry on the work that Jesus Himself  began, Central Christian Church exists to honor God by:

Bringing people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Incorporating them into the fellowship of the church
       Discipling them to Christ-like maturity
Equipping them for ministry to others
       Leading them to worship God

Our Mission as God's People is Threefold:

To Love the Lord
Jesus Himself said this was the greatest commandment of all (Matthew 22:36-38).  We desire to love the Lord, putting Him first in each area of our lives.

To Live the Word
We are to be both hearers and doers of the Word (James 1:22-24).  We desire to obey scripture in all we do, say, and think.

To Reach the World
Jesus' marching orders were to bring people to Him (Matthew 28:18-20).  We desire to share the Good News with our family and friends.
