Growing
in Faith
To be a disciple of Jesus, we will always be growing–developing our faith and our character to be more like Jesus. We cannot stay the same if we want to walk The LIFE Path. As Paul writes,
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:15-16
Growing is both on your own and together with others. It includes learning God’s Word and putting its truths and principles to work in daily life (1 Timothy 1:5 ; 2 Timothy 2:15 ). Growing includes character growth, which will produce what the Bible calls the “fruit of the Spirit.” Growing is a life-time experience with always space to grow more, and includes becoming a “self-feeder” who can help others grow (2 Timothy 2:2 ).
