We are an independent, non-denominational church that stands under the authority of the Word of God, the Bible, as our rule
of faith and practice. Therefore, at Central Christian Church you won't find a man-made, written creed
which we impose on people. There are no "articles of faith" which we
require everyone to accept. However, as we have studied the Bible and walked with
Christ, we have come to believe and teach:
|
That God is the Sovereign Creator of the
universe who cares personally for man as the Heavenly Father. We
believe that there is only one living and true God who reveals
Himself to us in three distinct personalities: Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit.
|
That Jesus is
both the Messiah, the Son of the
living God, who died for our sins and rose from the grave and the
virgin-born Son of man. Jesus was the first man, since
Adam, to be born without sin and He died on a cross for our
redemption. We believe that Jesus was risen, bodily,
from death and ascended to heaven to intercede on our behalf.
|
That the Holy Spirit
dwells within each
Christian as a comforter, counselor, and encourager, and gives gifts for abundant living
and assurance for eternal life. The Holy Spirit carries out the
will of God in the world of men. The Holy Spirit lives
in believers and gives them the power to accomplish God's
work. The Holy Spirit also works in the hearts of those
seeking God leading them to a new and lasting life in Jesus
Christ.
|
That the Bible is God's inspired Word and
is the divine authority by which Christians are called to live. We
believe that both the Old and New Testaments are verbally
inspired by God and error-free in the original text.
|
That man, because of his personal sin,
needs to be made whole and restored to fellowship with God through Jesus Christ.
|
That any person can become a Christian
by trusting in Jesus as Savior and Lord and by validating that faith
through the confession of a need for the relationship and the
act of water baptism.
|
That the Church is the body of Christ
composed of all born again believers around the world. It is identified locally by
ministering congregations, such as Central Christian Church.
